Bel Torres
Bel Torres grew up on the border between Mexico and the US in the Southwest Texas town of El Paso. Some of stories focus on topics about life in El Paso, life in old Mexico, and life in New Mexico. Other's are original imaginative plots of territories unfamiliar to Bel.
The stories she creates are often gritty tales about border life and the culturally rich beauty of her hometown and her bi-racial heritage. She is inspired by the life of her family in Chihuahua, Mexico; High Rolls, New Mexico; Central Texas; Anchorage, Alaska ; Bronx, New York; and the West Indies.
Bel also loves to find inspiration through reading and watching documentaries about historical figures. While an eclectic mix, some of her favorite icons include Anne Boleyn, Malcolm X, Nina Simone, and Pancho Villa. Some of Bel's favorite authors are Toni Morrison, Ernest Hemingway, and Kahlil Gibran.

Currently, Bel resides in her hometown along with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
